Our History

The progress of a country is directly proportional to the all round development of women. Keeping this in mind, Late Shri Gopal Chandra Ji founded Dau Dayal Bal Mandir in the memory of his father, Late Shri Dau Dayal Ji, a leading industrialist, a visionary and philanthropist from Northern India.

Firozabad city – Famous for Glass Industry, is 45 Km away from Agra (a world heritage city). A historical town itself, Firozabad is a backward district located on the banks of Yamuna.

Dau Dayal Mahila Mahavidyalaya Society made its initial foray into the world of education by starting a Bal Mandir in the year 1965. In the span of fifty-six years, the sapling blossomed into a giant tree having branches like Dau Dayal Inter College, Dau Dayal Mahila P.G. College affiliated to Dr. B.R.A. University, Agra. The Education Department of our college has been assessed and accredited by NAAC and awarded B+ grade in 2004. The Education Department has also been upgraded to Post Graduate Department by introducing M.Ed. classes in the year 2004.

The whole ethos of the institution is selfless service to the society, as is evident by the motto of the institution “SEWA PARMO DHARMA”. To uphold this motto, our institute aims at building a social structure where women can enjoy respectability free from gender bias and can also exercise their rights. It considers women education essential for their all round development viz; physical, mental, intellectual, social and moral. It also aims at inculcating the right attitude, values, ideas and ideologies amongst the students. To make women self-reliant and to further the cause of women education, our college has started several job-oriented certificate courses.

To develop aesthetic sense and the basic values of Indian Culture and Music, the college, in association with SPIC-MACAY organizes the performances of artists of international repute like Bharat-Ratna Ustaad Bismillah Khan, PadmaShree Uma Sharma, Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi, Padma Shree Shobhana Narayan, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasiya, Teejan Bai and many other famous artists.

The institute aims at an all-round harmonious development of students of the college. The college organizes seminars and workshops, inter-collegiate debates and sports competitions and poster, music, rangoli competitions etc. To inculcate the feelings of national integration and social service ,the students are enrolled for N.S.S. and N.C.C. programmes and are encouraged to do social-service for the upliftment of the poor and the down trodden .

To achieve the goal of providing quality education to women, the society has purchased 26 acres of land, close to the present campus. The new campus is ideally located, meticulously planned and has the provision for all the infrastructural facilities. Ms. Mala Rastogi’s (President, Dau Dayal Mahila Mahavidyalaya Society) passion and enthusiasm to help the poor students realize their dreams by acquiring vocational education and providing them a better quality of life is worth-appreciation.
